Of the 25 copies graded in BGS 9.5, this Quad+ example is 1 of only 7 copies which are graded in Quad subscores or higher. Of those 7 Quad cards, 2 are Quad++ and 2 are Quad+.
Impressions & Artwork
It’s hard to not appreciate this artwork by Rob Alexander as it reminds me of the landscape of Joshua Tree National Park in California. In some ways, I felt that it could have passed as the art for plateau.
Usage & Gameplay
This card always reminds me of sedge troll because of the black mana required to regenerate.
Nostalgia
Back in the mid 90's, Carlton's older brother had a red black deck that he would bare-back shuffle a playset of 4 revised badlands in. Even back then, it shocked me at how little fucks he gave about the condition of his cards as the layers of grime darkened the white borders of his deck of cards. I guess when you're rich, a $5 dual land is as valuable as a napkin at McDonald's.
