Lately, I've begun to really develop an appreciation for altered artwork on iconic cards. Initially I preferred only mint condition, unaltered vintage cards but one of a kind artwork featuring original artists is even more special in many respects. Impressions & Artwork Fireball Chaos Orb Alter by Mark Tedin, 2023 Perhaps my favorite alter is from Mark Tedin painted in April 15, 2023 Seattle Washington Commandfest. Although I haven't been to a MTG convention myself, I've heard that the line for Tedin's art is typically many hours long and getting something done by him is quite a time investment. A friend who frequents events got this done for me when the lines were only a couple hours. Black Lotus [Beta Pop 58]

Grading Overall 9.5 GEM MINT Centering 10 Corners 9 Edges 9.5 Surface 10 This card has 9 corners, which I believe is a very harsh grade given how clean the corners look to the naked eye. Upon inspection with a loupe, the front bottom right corner perhaps has an ever so slight lift from the factory beta corner die cut. Although the card features 9.5 edges, it has a very tiny edge flaw on the front top of the card. Even so, I can see this card reaching quad status if someone were to take the effort to regrade the card. Rarity & Collectability This black lotus is 1 of approximately 3,000 rare cards printed in the beta edition of Magic the Gathering. My Story with Magic the Gathering

Eye Candies 1994-1998, My Timmy Years Like many others, Magic the Gathering has come and gone in my life through stages, but has provided me so many vivid memories with friends that have come and gone. I actually can't remember the first time I picked up a Magic card, but it must have been sometime back in 1994-1995 at age 11, when Revised Edition was in full swing in Illinois. For a brief moment in time the 3rd Edition of MtG (Revised) was ubiquitously played and traded across public school lunch tables, sidewalks and school buses. The cards could be purchased from your local Jewel/Osco grocery store to the now defunct Borders Bookstore and even the big department store Marshall Fields during the holidays. I loved opening these gift boxes at Marshall Fields.
